ASN1C versions 6.0 and higher accept as input XML schema definition (XSD) specifications in addition to ASN.1 specifications. If an XSD specification is compiled, the compiler does internal translations of the XSD types into equivalent ASN.1 types as specified in ITU-T standard X.694. The following sections provide information on the translations and the C/C++ type definitions generated for the different XSD types.
