Mac OSX INSTALLATION

Minimum Resource Requirements

ASN1VE for Mac OSX has been tested on the Mac OSX 10.6 operating system. It is possible that it would work on older systems, but this has not been confirmed.

At least 122 MB of disk space is required on the target system.

Write access to the directory into which the application is installed is required.

Only x86-based Mac platforms are supported, older PPC-based Macs are not.

Running the Installation Wizard Program

This section explains how to run the Mac OSX installation wizard setup program.

A distribution setup file containing the complete ASN1VE application should have been provided. This would be a disk image file with a name in the following format:

asn1ve_v22x.dmg

where 22x would be replaced with the current version number (for example, 220).

Double-click this file to launch the Wizard. The first window that should appear should be the screen as follows:

First Page

This screen displays a README.html and an asn1ve.pkg file. Double-click README.html will display the README file for read. Double-click asn1ve.pkg starts the installer.

The next screen is the Welcome to the Installer:

Setup Welcome

Click Continue and follow the on-screen instructions.

The License screen displays the Software License Agreement:

License Agreement

The user should carefully read and understand the license terms. Once this is done, click Continue, and then click Agree.

Setup location

This page allows the user to start installation of the files.

Clicking Install will complete the setup procedure. The user may use the Go Back button to go back and change anything that was entered prior to doing this last step.

The following page is displayed when the installation is complete.

The ASN1VE application bundle asn1ve.app is installed in the Applications folder, and the supporting files such as asn1specs, README.html and samples are installed in the /Applications/asn1ve folder.
